50-member Nashville Music Council is trying to put the city on the “music map” by making it the newest global music capital. In hopes to become the new epicenter for music business, music education, branding and jobs, live music and creative talent will all unite for the city’s strong future. Among a music panel including Emmylou Harris and Jack White of The White Stripes, the council wants to expand the city’s image beyond country music. (YES!) Note: The National Folk Festival will begin in Nashville in 2011. Supporting this push, Tim DuBois of ASCAP Nashville expresses that Nashville has such a strong desire for creative persons. The most interesting part: Nashville may soon get one of the top-notch music education systems in the nation.
